Baby Shower Food

The food at a baby shower is generally cake and punch. You can purchase a wonderful looking baby shower cake at most any bakery. They have very cute designs that can be for a boy or a girl. You can also order an elegant special design baby shower cake. Simple punch served in a punch bowl with ice will suffice for most any baby shower. However, if you are interested in providing something more original in the line of food for the baby shower you are hosting, here are some great ideas.

If you would like to serve a light meal at the baby shower, sandwiches and finger foods are easiest. Meat and cheese platters and tuna or chicken salad are great hits. Add chips or vegetables with dips for a great combination. Fruit trays with yogurt dip is a very good choice too. Serving a large tray of crackers with cheese cubes will be a hit. You can try some hot finger foods as well. Hot wings and pizza rolls are very common.

Offering a salad bar with a variety of dressings is also a great food to serve at a baby shower. Set it up buffet style with many great sides to choose from including tomatoes, cheese, cottage cheese, green peppers, carrots, and celery sticks.

Serving food at a baby shower doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. Try to keep the food buffet style so that guests feel free to go to it as they please throughout the baby shower. This will also give them the opportunity to mingle with each other. No matter what you serve, have plenty of everything on hand so you won’t run short. Offering a variety of foods is a wonderful idea because then you are sure to have something that each guest will enjoy eating. You can add some baby related centerpieces or decorations to the food area if you desire.
