Frugal and Simple Baby Shower Games

Don’t Say “Baby!”

When each guest arrives at the baby shower they are given a string necklace with some baby safety pins on it to wear. At the beginning of the baby shower tell all of the guests that they are not to say the word “baby” while at the shower. When ever someone says “baby” and another person notices, they yell out “baby” and get one of the pins from the person who said it. The person who has the most pins at the end of the baby shower wins a prize.

How Big Is The Tummy?

For this game all you will need is a ball of string or yarn and a pair of scissors. Have each guest cut off a length of yarn that they think will wrap exactly around the mom’s tummy. When everyone has their yarn wrap it around the mom and see who came the closest.

Name The Baby Gear

Give each guest a pen and paper. The game is to write down every baby item they can think of. Give a prize to the person with the most and to the person who has the most unique answer.

Pin The Baby on The Mommy

To play “Pin The Baby on The Mommy” you will need a cut out of a pregnant mom and some paper baby cut-outs. For this game you will also need a blindfold. Blindfold each of the guests and have them pin the baby on the mommy. The one who comes closest to the tummy wins a prize.

String Toss

Everyone at the baby shower sits in a circle. The person who starts the game holds on to the end of the ball of string (or yarn) and tosses it to another person in the circle. Each person who catches the yarn has to answer a question about babies, family life, themselves, etc… This person then holds on to the string and passes the ball to another person. In the end you will have a big web connecting everyone together. This game is great if you have people who do not know each other in attendance, or for a baby shower in an office setting.
