Review Of Baby Diapers

When I became a mom for the first time, I wasn’t sure which brand of diapers I would like or which ones would work out the best for us. The first pack of diapers I bought was Pampers. It’s a name I had heard of and one that has been around for years. After seeing how many diapers I needed a week, I decided to be open-minded and give other brands a chance. The Pampers worked well for us with virtually no leaks, but they were on the more expensive side. This is what I found out through trial and error:

Huggies: They seemed like a good idea to try since they were less expensive than the Pampers. However, almost every one I put on my baby leaked. It was a bummer since I used to see a lot of coupons for them in the mail or Sunday circular. These diapers just didn’t seem to fit right for my baby. Huggies makes several different brands including Huggies Supreme and Huggies Ultra. I had no success with any of their diapers. In fact after polling most of my friends and family, I have not heard anybody say anything good about Huggies. Most people say that they leak.

White Cloud: This is the brand that Wal-Mart makes. I hated this right from the start. I’m not sure of the material they put inside but my son developed a rash after the second diaper I used on him. These diapers were so bad, I just threw the rest out.

Seventh Generation: These diapers are touted as “eco-friendly” because they are not made with chlorine bleach like other diapers. Chlorine produces dioxin which is a known carcinogen. They are also fragrance free and hypo-allergenic. My husband and I try and practice more earth friendly alternatives so we were psyched about trying these. Could they be good for the environment and good for our baby? Unfortunately they are a  great “green” product but not good for our baby. I did not like the fasteners that they had. The biggest problem was when my son would pee, the entire diaper would swell up. It looked like he had gone in the ocean with a regular diaper on. He looked ridiculous. These diapers were also so bad we just had to toss them out. Since trying these diapers, seventh generation may have changed or improved their line of diapers. But, I’m so turned of from my first experience that I wouldn’t want to give them another shot.

Luvs: Ok, I’ll admit it, I tried Luv’s because they had Blues Clue’s on their diapers and I thought it was cute. They also had a free Blue’s clues blanket inside their case of diapers. Luvs are also less expensive than Huggies and Pampers. With the exception of maybe one or two little accidents, these were not bad. I liked the soft material of them and the fasteners seemed to stay well. My son never got a rash from these. Next to Pampers, these were my favorite.

Pampers: These diapers are probably the most expensive ones on the market but they are well worth it. These are the Cadillac of diapers. I’ve never experienced any leakage or rash or any other problem. They come with cute designs on them. Currently they have Sesame Street characters. Occasionally I will receive coupons in the mail for them which seem to help. The Swaddlers and Cruisers are by far the best ones they have. They fit well and allow your baby or toddler to move around with ease because they stretch so nicely. The tabs always close and stay well.

So after giving a few different brands a try, I have found Pampers to be the best diaper on the market. They are far superior to the others and at this point I wouldn’t waist my time or money on any other brand.
