Traveling With Your Baby By Car
Traveling with your baby can be stressful if you’re not prepared with all of the things you will need. Whether you are traveling by car on a vacation or just going to grandma’s making sure you have the right things with you, can make the difference between a pleasant and unpleasant trip.
If you are planning a car trip, it’s helpful to write a list of the items you will be taking along. Pack the car the night before and cross things off the list as you load the car. Packing ahead of the time alleviates the stress and worry of forgetting things the last minute. It will help make your car ride more relaxing right from the start. Here are some items you will need when traveling with your little one:
Diaper Bag with diapers and wipes.
Diaper rash cream
Bottles, cups, food and drinks
Bibs
Sunscreen and insect repellant (if it’s summer)
Pacifiers (if your baby uses them) Make sure you have a few in case one gets lost.
Digital thermometer and Vaseline in case you think they have a fever
Ibuprofen and/or acetaminophen in case of fever
2 Extra sets of clothes
Stroller
Feeding gear-Portable feeding chairs are great to pack when you’re traveling. If you’re going to a friend or relatives house, they may not have an appropriate spot for you to feed your child so baby’s booster seat will come in handy.
Pack and play’s are important to bring if you know you will be spending the night. Many hotels offer portable cribs but you never know what condition they will be in or if they are safe. Remember to bring your child’s blankets, pillows, and most importantly anything they cuddle up with at bedtime.
Toys are one of the most important things to remember to bring. Make sure you bring your baby or toddlers favorite toys.
You can buy special mirrors that attach to your car so that you can see what your baby is doing at all times while you’re en route.
